זוהי שורה מהשיר Ex-Lion Tamer של להקת Wire. ואולי זו גם הצהרת הכוונות של הלהקה, שהוקמה ב-2005 מיד לאחר שחגי פרשטמן ואסף תאג'ר סיימו את הקלטות אלבום הבכורה של להקתם המשותפת השניה דאז, Family Butchers (אצל בוב ווסטון, איש Shellac) ושל קטאמין. השניים לא בזבזו זמן רב. משיקגו עברו לניו-יורק, צירפו את זואי פולנסקי (לשעבר Ed) ללהקה ונכנסו לאולפנו של וורטון טיירס (Wharton Tiers), שנודע בין היתר בעבודותיו עם Sonic Youth ו-Dinosaur Jr.

ההרכב נוסד עבור פרויקט בין לאומי של הלחנת שירי המשורר הצרפתי ז'אק פרבר. עם הזמן, כשנוכחו החברים לדעת כי הפרוייקט מתקדם בצורה מבטיחה ומהר משציפו, החליטו לקחת את היוזמה צעד קדימה ולפנות לטיירס עם חומרים מקוריים שיצרו יחדיו. חומרים אלו שילבו נויז ופופ עם מלודיות וסאונד עוצמתי, ודי להקשיב לשירים הראשונים ששחררו, כגון Plan B ו-Chuck Buck & whatever the fuck (נקראים באלבום Japanese Flower ו-Shaky בהתאמה), My Little Lioness ו-Best is Last, שלא נכנס לאלבום, כדי ללמוד על הקירבה המוסיקלית ללהקות לייט-נויז / נו ווייב כמו סוניק יות' ו-Yeah Yeah Yeahs. לאחר ההקלטות, ערכה סיבוב הופעות בחוף המזרחי של ארה"ב.

הופעת ההשקה של האלבום, Go Ghost, נערכה במועדון הייניקן הבימה קלאב בתל-אביב, 27-01-2006. אחד הגימיקים שנהגו לעשות בהופעה הוא החלפת המקומות בין פרשטמן לפולנסקי (הוא על גיטרה, היא על התופים) עבור גירסת כיסוי לשיר Orphans של לידיה לאנץ'. במאי 2006 שבו לארה"ב למסע הופעות בן חודשיים. שהות מחודשת זו בארה"ב נוצלה ע"י הלהקה להקלטת אלבומו השני של תאג'ר כקטאמין, גם הפעם עם וורטון טיירס כמפיק מוסיקלי.

כשנדמה היה שההצלחה בקרב חובבי האינדי והציפיה המתגברת לאלבום הבא יתנו את אותותיהם, עשה תאג'ר סיבוב פרסה והתנתק משהו מן הבמות, כשבראשו מתרוצצים פרוייקטים חדשים ומשונים, לאו דוקא מתחום המוסיקה. הוא הספיק להופיע פעמים בודדות בתל-אביב ב-2007/8 אך תחת הכובע של קטאמין. אקס ליון תיימר לא חידשו את פעילותם מאז אותו טור אמריקאי. עם זאת, נודע על קיומו של אלבום שני שנגנז וטרם ראה אור..
